The ThermalDart is a 3 in 1 model in that it can be discus launched, high start launched, or sloped. Finished weight is 10.2 ounces.

It is available in 4 panel with flaps, or 5 panel for rudder elevator. 5 panel shown.

Wing span is the typical 1.5 meters. Wind penetration is outstanding and it holds its' own in 15 mph. Please note that the large fin is ahead of the stab which provides for a stronger fuselage and less nose weight.

I entered the 5 panel model shown in the May 2005 Minnesota Sailplane contest and it placed 3rd overall, competing against RES and full house sailplanes. I would have done better, but came late and only had 45 minutes to get 5 flights in, one being 15 minutes.

At the June 2005 Minnesota Sailplane contest, it won first place, also competing against RES and full house sailplanes. It thermals easily and is simple to fly. On the lightweight highstart, it goes to the top on a rail. I have a long lightweight highstart that gets it up to winch altitude.
