This is the easiest and most economical windspeed computer that I have seen. Mount it to the top of a pole with a 1/4-20 bolt. It is non directional and is very accurate. I have had 2 of these mounted within 20 feet during a contest. The average speed was within a fraction after a full day of operation. The maximum was also within a fraction. They tell you the current windspeed, average windspeed, maximum windspeed, and has a bar graph to tell you where you are in recent history. It displays in miles per hour, meters per second, and other. It has a long lasting battery that is replaceable (7years??..manufacturers statement). Really a neat tool for your contest advantage kit.

Don't pay any attention to the numbers on the picture. It measures windspeed from 1 mile per hour to 60 or more. I saw one of those directional windmeters and it was not even close. I could make a better guess!
